Information Dayward handles

Depending on the features you use, Dayward may handle:

• countdown titles, dates, symbols, reminders, and optional background images;
• custom quotes, favourite quotes, and display preferences;
• an approximate current location or a place you select for Sky;
• notification settings and locally scheduled reminders; and
• backup files that you choose to export or import.

Where your app data is stored

Dayward stores app data on your device. When iCloud is available, countdowns and custom quotes may sync through your private iCloud account so they can appear on your other devices. Apple operates iCloud and processes that data under its own privacy terms.

Dayward does not operate an account system or a developer-owned server that receives your quotes, countdowns, favourites, or reminders.

Location and Sky

If you choose current location, Dayward requests approximate location only while you use the app. You can instead select a place manually. Dayward saves the approximate or selected place on your device so Sky and its widget can continue to work.

Sunrise, sunset, moon, daylight, and seasonal calculations are performed on your device. Apple MapKit services may process a location or search query when Dayward looks up a place name or lets you search for a place. You can change location permission at any time in your device's Settings app.

Notifications

Daily quote reminders and countdown reminders are optional and are scheduled locally through Apple's notification system. You can turn them off in Dayward or in your device settings.

Analytics, advertising, and tracking

Dayward does not include third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or cross-app tracking. The Dayward support website does not add analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts. Its hosting provider may process standard technical request information to deliver and protect the site.

Backups, sharing, and support

Dayward only creates a backup or share image when you ask it to. You choose where that file is saved or sent. Backup files can contain personal countdowns, quotes, and images, so keep them somewhere you trust.

If you email support, the information you include is received and retained as ordinary email so the request can be answered. Please do not send information that is not needed to diagnose the issue.

Deletion and retention

You can delete countdowns and custom quotes in Dayward. Removing the app removes locally stored app data from that device. Synced iCloud data and exported backups are controlled through your Apple account and the places where you saved those files.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated if Dayward's features or data handling change. The effective date above will be changed when an update is published.
